Cup & Plate Rounds 3 & 4 will take place on 2nd Dec at Spondon. Please arrive by 7.20 for a prompt 7.30 start. SIMULTANEOUS DISPLAY AT WESTFIELD CENTRE DERBY Michael Alderson played 22 opponents at the Westfield Centre on Sunday 26th October in an event sponsored by the retail shop IDENTITY. He conceded two losses and a draw - one of the former was to Ron Farley and the draw to Maurice Hill but the majority of players were not local club members. Prizes were provided to successful players by Identity. The event proved very successful with a lot of passing shoppers stopping to watch play and several enquiries were generated for details of clubs. There were requests to repeat the event in the New Year. Many thanks to Michael, Identity and to Westfield's management. |
